Diary Entry – 16 June 2020

Your Daddy has been looking after us so well. He took a day’s leave yesterday from work and today is a public holiday (Youth Day in South Africa) so we can spend more time together.

You are one week old💞❣ and changing every day, new things all the time. Noticing how you now seem to be trying to look at things and I am learning about all the reflexes a newborn has.

What a help this site has been…when I get a chance to read up, that is.

How amazing it is to breastfeed you as well, I see you looking at me and I feel SO MUCH LOVE for you. Loving this bonding time.
I also still have these moments of so much uncertainty, they are subsiding and I continue to praise my Heavenly Father for such a precious addition to our family and that we were entrusted with your life.
I am also reminded that things might feel different for me in comparison to other new mommies since I have wanted you for so long and your Dad and I are believer’s in Jesus and we seem to be in the right place in life right now.
You are our perfect gift and God’s perfect time!

It’s rather cold today and we are lazing on the couch. I love watching your Dad holding you close and doing some bonding of his own. I really enjoy seeing the love in your Daddies eyes while he is bonding with you.
Daddy says he wishes he could stay with his two girls but has to go back to work tomorrow. I am going to miss him too!

You are doing so well our beautiful!
I must just tell you, the experience has been everything I wished and strangely enough also much what I never could have expected. The love I feel for you supersedes anything I could imagine!

Bible Verses at the bottom of my book:
Colossians 3:15 Let the peace that comes from Christ rule in your hearts. For as members of one body you are called to live in peace.
